Princess Cruises’ newest cruise ship has made its debut.
The new Discovery Princess kicked off its inaugural cruise to the Mexican Riviera this week, the highly-anticipated launch of the 3,600-guest ship.
It’s the latest entry in Princess’ MedallionClass portfolio, joining Enchanted Princess, Sky Princess, Majestic Princess, Regal Princess and Royal Princess.
The ship is sailing out of the Port of Los Angeles, where the cruise line first launched its first-ever cruise back in 1965.
“Cruising is back and the elegant Discovery Princess showcases the many reasons why travelers should take a cruise now,” said John Padgett, president fo Princess Cruises. “We also recognize and applaud the ship’s company, who will work tirelessly to deliver memorable cruise vacations to all who sail on this magnificent cruise ship.”
The ship includes a group of luxury Sky Suites, all of which have 1,000-foot balconies, the largest at sea.
That’s along with 25 bars and restaurants, including the most al fresco dining options of any Princess ship.
