Guyana’s One Laptop Per Family programme, an initiative aimed at improving access to technology, has continued its rollout across the country.
The programme, which was partially funded by the Chinese government, brings Haier netbooks, or small laptops, to Guyanese citizens.
The OLPF ultimately targets 90,000 Guyanese, as part of a plan by the government to develop the country’s ICT sector.
The first batch of laptops arrived in Guyana in October, and over 7,000 have been distributed so far.
