Delta to Keep Blocking Middle Seats Through April

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 8, 2021

Delta Air Lines will continue to block middle seats through at least April 30, the carrier said this week.

That means Delta will remain the only carrier still blocking middle seats amid the pandemic.

Delta will also continue to limit capacity on all flights, “ensuring customers can confidently plan and book their spring travel,” the company said.

“We want our customers to have complete confidence when traveling with Delta, and they continue to tell us that more space provides more peace of mind,” said Bill Lentsch, Chief Customer Experience Officer. “We’ll continue to reassess seat blocking in relation to case transmission and vaccination rates, while bringing back products and services in ways that instill trust in the health and safety of everyone on board – that will always be Delta’s priority.”

Delta has been implementing the practice since April 2020.

A number of carriers had been blocking middle seats in the first few months of the pandemic, but are no longer doing so.
