Spirit Airlines Begins New Flights From Austin to Cancun
Spirit Airlines has begun its first-ever international service from Austin, with the official launch of flights from Austin to Cancun in Mexico.
The new service will be operating four times per week, with service on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
“By adding more nonstop destinations with our famous low fares, we create more opportunity for our Guests to travel and save,” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning for Spirit Airlines. “We’re excited to offer even More Go in Austin. Savvy travelers can use the money Spirit helps them save to enjoy more of Cancun’s great beaches.”
The launch is part of what is a significant expansion by Spirit to Cancun.
Indeed, earlier this month, the low-cost carrier announced plans to launch flights to Cancun from other United States cities including Cleveland, Philadelphia, Nashville and Pittsburgh.
“This month marks Spirit’s one-year anniversary in Austin, and what better way to celebrate their success than with the launch of an exciting new year-round service to Cancun,” said Jacqueline Yaft, Executive Director of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
