IHG has opened another hotel in Mexico, this time on the Yucatan peninsula.
The company’s fast-growing Holiday Inn Express brand has debuted a new hotel in the heart of Merida’s historic downtown.
The 131-room new-build hotel incorporates a renovated colonial mansion that dates back to Merida’s founding in the 15th century.
“With the opening and expansion of the Holiday Inn Express brand in Merida, IHG contributes to the economic and touristic development of the region,” said Gerardo Murray, regional vice president at IHG for Mexico and the Caribbean. “We are confident of the success that the hotel will have, as it will provide a smart choice of lodging, a fantastic location and a straightforward, efficient service for travelers who visit this destination, whether for business or pleasure.”
The hotel’s amenities include an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a pair of meeting rooms, a business center and free Wi-Fi.
That’s along with the brand’s signature breakfast bar.
The debut of the Merida hotel comes a few months after IHG debuted another Holiday Inn Express in Playa del Carmen.
