A Nice Little Perk at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya

When you’re staying at hotel, it’s sometimes the small things that matter the most: a carafe of water at turndown; the bellman calling you by name; the bartender who remembers your favorite tipple.

And at Mexico’s Grand Velas Riviera Maya resort, I recently discovered a nifty nicety I’m hoping more hotels will adopt: the perchero.

A perchero is a wooden or metal stand made specifically to hold women’s handbags. No need to sling your beach bag on the back of your chair or dump your tote on the floor; these table-height purse holders, available in all the resort’s eight restaurants, keep your bags safe, clean, and within sight.

So whether you’re carrying a beach bag or a Birkin, you’re tote-ally covered.
