J BY JOSÉ ANDRÉS, the latest restaurant by acclaimed chef José Andrés, has opened at W Mexico City.

This new dining concept marks the international debut of ThinkFoodGroup, based in Washington, D.C., and Chef Andrés’ first restaurant at W Hotels.

J BY JOSÉ ANDRÉS will allow guests to enjoy a new experience of the flavors of the chef’s native Spain, while also incorporating dishes unique to Mexico City.

“It is an honor for me to be partnering with W Mexico City to open my first restaurant outside the United States,” said Chef Andrés. “The playful, dynamic spirit of the W brand is a natural fit for us and this concept, especially this property in Mexico City, one of the most vibrant cities in the world.”

“Today I feel I belong more to this country that I love and that has given me so much. I can’t wait for the people of Mexico City to try the food of my native Spain, and taste the dishes that celebrate the astonishing cultural and historical connections between Mexico and Spain.”

The menu includes dishes ranging from Spanish Coca topped with sea urchin, to Jamón Ibérico, to a classic fried egg with caviar.

Complementing these tastes of Spain are “Spain Meets Mexico” dishes that draw on ingredients from both countries, such as Mexican Torta featuring Spanish Mollete break or Mexico’s Queso Fundido’s made with Spanish cheeses.

“At W Mexico City, surprising our clients and guests with what’s new and next is part of our DNA,” added Thomas Jecklin, General Manager, W Mexico City. “We are nearing the completion of a multi-million dollar hotel renovation, encompassing guestrooms and public spaces, and J BY JOSÉ ANDRÉS is the perfect addition to the new W Mexico City.”

The restaurant becomes the second in Andres’ regional portfolio, along with a restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton Reserve Dorado Beach.
