AMResorts is expanding in Jamaica.

The company announced that it would open its first-ever Sunscape Resorts and Spas-branded hotel in Montego Bay.

The resort will be the company’s third on the island. It will debut as the Sunscape Montego Bay.

“Introducing another resort brand from our portfolio in Jamaica is a testament to our strong performance record in the country,” said Alex Zozaya, CEO of Apple Leisure Group. “Apple Leisure Group brings two out of every 10 U.S. guests to the Caribbean, and Jamaica is one of the most popular destinations in the region with more than 2 million visitors in 2014.”

The company will take over management of the Sunset Beach Resort and the Oasis at Sunset until the property is officially rebranded in “late 2015.”

The 430-room property includes two 10-story towers on the bay, along with an aquatic park and a casino.

“While our adults-only resorts in Jamaica have been very successful, there was an increased desire from owners and guests alike for family-friendly, premium all-inclusive options in the country’s most popular destinations, like Montego Bay,” said Javier Coll, executive vice president and Chief Strategy Officer of AMResorts’ parent company, Apple Leisure Group. “The strength of our brand portfolio, reputation and proven success record in Jamaica make us an ideal partner for owners seeking to continue success in the family travel market.”
