The Caribbean Single Market plans to establish a Regional Sports Academy that would focus on using sports as a vehicle for Caribbean integration. The plan was formulated at a meeting of the Regional Sports Academy Task Force last week in Paramaribo, Suriname. The institution, when complete, would include soccer, track and field, swimming and volleyball facilities, among others. International sports icon Clarence Seedorf has already donated a building in Paramaribo for the facility.
