The Jamaican bobsleigh team received much of the publicity, but a number of skiers representing Caribbean nations made their mark at the Sochi Olympics.
So how did they fare?
British Virgin Islands skier Peter Adam Crook finished 27th in the first round of qualification for the men’s ski halfpipe.

Angelica Morrone di Silvestri did not start the ladies’ 10KM classic last week after she suffered an injury in pre-race training. Skier Gary Di Silvestri did not finish the race, following a bout with a bacteria-borne illness he reportedly picked up in Sochi.
United States Virgin Islands skier Jasmine Campbell, a native of St John competed in four slalom runs, including two Giant Slalom runs and two Slalom runs.
In her first two Giant Slalom runs, she finished 62nd and 57th, while finishing 50th and 43rd in the Slalom runs.
“I want to thank everyone that watched or sent me a message of support or simply sent good vibrations to my nation,” Campbell said in a message on Facebook. “You guys have really made this whole experience all the more incredible.”
This year’s Sochi Olympics saw an extremely large Caribbean contingent, and it’s likely that the number of Caribbean Winter Olympians will only grow in PyeongChang, South Korea in 2018.
