St Lucia Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony continued his visit to Cuba this week, holding talks on issues such as sports and education.

Anthony led a St Lucian delegation on a visit to the Giraldo Cordova Cardin school for “high-performance athletes,” along with a trip to the Estadio Panamericano.

The two sides discussed “future cooperation in sports development and management between the countries,” according to a statement from St Lucia’s government.

Part of that cooperation would involve developing mechanisms to “discover and train potential athletes,” St Lucia’s government said.

Earlier this week, Anthony met with staff and students at Cuba’s Higher Institute of Arts, exploring ways the two countries might “harness the talents and creativity of young St Lucians.”
