These St Thomas, USVI Resorts Just Named New Leadership
It’s the largest, most prominent destination hotel in the US Virgin Islands: the Frenchman’s Reef complex, which consists of two resorts: the Westin Beach Resort and the Buoy Haus Beach.
Now, the properties have new leadership, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The dual-resort complex has named a new managing director, Martin Smith; a new vice president for commercial services, Andrew Haas; and a new general manager for the Buoy Haus resort: Maria Vilchez.
Smith was most recently the complex general manager of the Eden Roc Miami Beach and the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach.
Haas has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality, including 21 years at Marriott International.
Vilchez, who previously served as hotel manager at the Eden Roc Miami Beach, will lead day-to-day operations for the 94-room Buoy Haus, a resort we loved when we stayed at the complex earlier this year.
The appointments come after Davidson Hospitality was recently tapped to operate both properties.
