This Cancun-Area All-Inclusive Has a New Preferred Club With a Rooftop Pool and a Private Sushi Bar

By: Alexander Britell - November 7, 2024

It’s no secret that all-inclusive is the biggest thing in travel right now, as big brands continue to expand their footprint in the everything-included space. But within all-inclusive, it’s another trend that continues to grow: the resort-within-a-resort.

At some hotels, it’s a Diamond Club, at others it’s the Unique Club, at others it’s the Club Level.

In the Hyatt Inclusive Collection, it’s the Preferred Club. But the newest concept at one of the Mexican Caribbean’s most popular all-inclusives is something different.

You see, the Dreams Sapphire resort already had a Preferred Club. But now it’s taken things to another level: an even more elevated resort concept set right on the beach. You might call it a resort-within-a-resort-within-a-resort. Or, you might call it a “Preferred Club-within-a-Preferred Club.”

The two-story villas have their own pools.

It’s called Indigo, and it’s more than just a lobby filled with snacks or a pillow menu. It’s a total of 70 suites and 10 villas.

It’s a resort-within-a-resort with easily the property’s most rarefied rooms — coming in two different styles. The special enclave within the 488-room beach resort has a pair of accommodation options: an Indigo Suite or a two-story villa.

While the inclusions can vary from resort to resort, they’re pretty cool at this one: access to a special adults-only rooftop pool that comes with its own swim-up bar.

There’s also a restaurant just for Indigo guests called Seaside Grill.

The Indigo Suites (70 of them in total) are a mix of swim-ups (which we always recommend) and traditional sea-view rooms.

The new concept includes a rooftop pool.

As for the costlier villas, you get a pair of bedrooms and serious space, making it perfect for a couples’ getaway. And every villa comes with access to its own pool and dedicated butler service. There’s actually room for up to eight guests, a spokesperson for Dreams Sapphire told Caribbean Journal.

Dreams Sapphire, which first opened in 2021, is set in one our favorite beach towns in the Caribbean: Puerto Morelos, the charming fishing village that’s part of what’s lately been called the “Riviera Cancun,” just about one hour from Cancun.

As we said when we stayed at another Hyatt Inclusive property, the Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay, the Preferred Club really is its own resort, and it’s a concept that can take a regular vacation and turn into something far more special.

So what about prices?

A “standard” junior suite with an ocean view starts at $381.50 per person per night. That goes up to $522 per person for a swim-out option.

For the villas, you’ll be looking at $1606 per person.
