Sandals Saint Vincent, Grenada Resorts “Remain Open”

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 5, 2024

After being in the path of Hurricane Beryl, the Sandals St Vincent and Sandals Grenada resorts both “remain open,” Caribbean Journal has learned.

Guests at both all-inclusive resorts are “already enjoying many of the resort amenities as we work to get back to normal,” the company said in a statement.

While Hurricane Beryl threatened to hit Jamaica, the island was spared from any notable impact, and all of Sandals’ Jamaica resorts also remain open.

“As expected with a storm of this magnitude, some areas in Jamaica are without power or WiFi access today, however our resorts are equipped with backup power generators to provide guests as much comfort as possible,” the company said in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. “We are incredibly fortunate as the majority of work over the next few days involves addressing damage to trees and landscaping, returning outdoor furniture and supplies to common resort areas and bringing the full resort experience back online.”

While regular commercial flights have unsurprisingly been disrupted, airports in the Caribbean are quickly reopening to help restore schedules.

“We are encouraging guests to remain in the comfort and safety of our resorts until their return flights are confirmed,” the company said.

Sandals has also set up a disaster relief initiative through its Sandals Foundation to help the islands affected.
