It was more than a decade ago that Marriott opened its first-ever Ritz-Carlton resort in the Dutch Caribbean: the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba, which at the time was the island’s first true five-star resort.
Fast forward to 2024, and Marriott is set to up the luxury ante in Aruba again this fall.
The new St. Regis Aruba Resort is making its highly-anticipated debut in November, Aruba officials confirmed this week at the Caribbean Travel Marketplace conference in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
So what do you need to know about the new ultra-luxury resort?
The 220-room St Regis will open its doors in the heart of Aruba’s high-rise hotel district, with a prime perch on the island’s popular Palm Beach.
Amenities will range from a prime central pool to a destination spa to a boutique-style casino and a high-tech fitness center.
Dining concepts will be a pair of eateries: a signature restaurant and a pool bar-grill.
The resort will be the third St Regis in the Caribbean, joining the St Regis Bahia Beach in Puerto Rico and the St Regis Kanai, which opened last year on the Caribbean coast of Mexico.
It’s one of two high-profile openings in Aruba this year, along with Iberostar’s new Eagle Beach adults-only resort, which has pegged an opening date in October.
Of course, Aruba’s hotel product is not just larger resorts. It’s also home to a diverse collection of more intimate resorts, from the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort on Eagle Beach to the newly-adults-only Boardwalk Boutique Hotel, a fantastic property in the Palm Beach area.
