Southwest Airlines Adding Turks and Caicos, Punta Cana Flights
Southwest Airlines is planning a significant Caribbean expansion out of the Orlando market, Caribbean Journal has learned.
Beginning June 4, Southwest will be kicking off five new routes to the Caribbean out of Orlando.
That includes new routes from Orlando to Cancun, Mexico; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Nassau, The Bahamas; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
All of those routes will be operating daily, according to Southwest Airlines.
The new flights supplement existing Caribbean service out of Orlando to both Aruba and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
These flights will be operating through at least Aug. 4, 2024, according to the carrier’s new schedule.
Orlando has become an increasingly popular source market for Caribbean travel, including on airlines like JetBlue and, most notably, Spirit Airlines.
