Marriott Just Opened a New Four Points by Sheraton in the Dominican Republic
It’s always been Punta Cana. The Dominican Republic’s high-volume tourist destination keeps showing growth – but with record-breaking visitor arrivals, the DR’s visitor growth is spreading to new poles. That includes the capital of Santo Domingo, which has been welcoming a host of new flights in recent years, as officials look to ramp up visitation to the five hundred-year-old city.
In the last year, several new properties have opened their doors in Santo Domingo, including a new Kimpton and a pair of new Marriott-portfolio hotels, a Courtyard and a traditional Marriott, both in the hip Piantini neighborhood.
The newest one? A Four Points by Sheraton, the business-friendly, meeting-focused hotel that is now open near the Las Americas Free Zone.
The new Four Points has 124 rooms, along with a pool, a free shuttle to the airport, a gym and a bar. In other words, it’s what you expect from the value-centric brand.
It’s the second Four Points in the DR, joining the popular one we’ve visited several times in Punta Cana: the Four Points by Sheraton Puntacana Village.
It’s a busy year for Marriott in the Dominican Republic: company just opened a new all-inclusive resort in Miches and will soon debut the new St. Regis Cap Cana this spring.
So what about prices? Starting as low as $122 per night, according to Google Hotels. That’s a good deal particularly considering the location five minutes from Las Americas airport.
