Frontier Is Adding a New Puerto Rico-Dominican Republic Flight
Frontier is making a big expansion push out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and now the low-cost carrier is at it again, with a new route to the Dominican Republic, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The new route will kick off June 19, with flights twice per week between San Juan and Puerto Plata on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.
Frontier says the route will have introductory fares of just $79 one-way.
Puerto Plata is an increasingly popular destination in the Dominican Republic, with a strong offering of mostly all-inclusive resorts. There’s one major exception: the exceedingly lovely Casa Colonial hotel, the only boutique-style hotel in the area and one of our favorites in the Dominican Republic. (Rooms from $481 right now).
It’s the latest in a wave of new routes in the Caribbean out of San Juan, including just-launched service to Antigua.
