The Caribbean’s top farm-to-table movement. Gloriously uncrowded beaches. Legendary beach bars. Romantic hotels. Lush rainforests. Historic rum distilleries. If you’ve been to the Caribbean island of St Kitts, you know it’s not easy to categorize: it’s got a bit of everything, from its stunning natural environs to its charming capital.

Now, it also has a major new flight from New York City. Delta Air Lines has officially relaunched its service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Basseterre, with a nonstop flight operating once every week on Saturdays.

It’s Delta’s second flight to the island, joining existing service between Atlanta and St Kitts.

You can fly from New York to St Kitts for the entirety of the peak tourist season, with the flight set to run through at least April 26 of next year.

So what about cost?

In the first week of January, you can book the four-hour-plus flight for about $446.41 roundtrip, according to Delta’s website.

Are you thinking of planning a trip to St Kitts right now?

The island has a growing collection of unique places to stay, from the ultra-luxe Park Hyatt St Kitts, a stunning property where we’ve stayed and thoroughly enjoyed it, with rooms going for about $1,270 per night

If you head to St Kitts, Mr. X’s Shiggidy Shack is a must-visit beach bar.

The boutique, sustainability-focused Sunset Reef, which has just 11 rooms set on a private beach, has rooms for $945 per night right now. It’s a property we called the best new boutique hotel in the Caribbean shortly after its debut, and it remains a unique, thoughtful approach to the boutique luxury hotel.

Set in a remote corner of the northern part of the island, the couples-friendly Belle Mont Sanctuary has remarkable views of St Kitts and nearby Statia, with rates as low as $751 per night, according to Google.

For a property in the heart of St Kitts’ most popular tourist spot (and close to the always-fun beach bar scene on Frigate Bay), you can’t go wrong with the St Kitts Marriott, the island’s largest resort, set on a beautiful stretch of beach and replete with all of the amenities you’re looking for. Rooms from $289.
