A Guide to the Best Marriott All-Inclusive Resorts to Visit Right Now

By: Alexander Britell - October 12, 2024

An adults-only escape to a tiny island in the Mexican Caribbean. A golf getaway to the beach in Costa Rica. A solo trip to Cancun’s most exciting hotel. A wellness vacation on Barbados’ Platinum Coast. It’s no secret that the all-inclusive concept is more popular than ever. But all-inclusive resorts are also more diverse than ever. The cookie-cutter all-inclusive model no longer exists. In its place are a tapestry of resorts for different tastes and different needs, united by the all-inclusive convenience that more and more travelers are seeking out.

It’s been five years since Marriott made its high-profile foray into the all-inclusive space, and now the company’s All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy collection is better than ever, with resorts to fit every kind of vacation and every kind of traveler. Looking for an adults-only escape? Or maybe you’re in the market for an active, wellness-focused vacation. Perhaps you want a trip where you can bring the kids and the grandparents. You can find it at countless Marriott properties across the Caribbean-Mexico region. Our guide to the best Marriott all-inclusive resorts to visit right now includes classic romantic hideaways, multi-generational beach resorts and intimate boutique hotels where you can immerse yourself in the local culture. The choice is yours. Here are our favorites for the fall and winter season.

marriott all-inclusive isla mujeres
Almare is opening this month.

Almare, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort, Isla Mujeres It’s the most-anticipated new all-inclusive resort of the year: Marriott’s stunning new Luxury Collection resort on the charming little island of Isla Mujeres in the Mexican Caribbean. The resort, which opens later this month, will debut with 109 rooms, along with four outstanding dining concepts, a destination spa, a pair of pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center and nightly entertainment and programming reflecting the local culture very characteristic of The Luxury Collection, among other inclusions.

sanctuary cap cana marriott all-inclusive
Sanctuary Cap Cana is one of our favorites.

Sanctuary Cap Cana, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort, Dominican Republic We love the design at this Cap Cana signature resort, anchored by what just might be our favorite swim-up rooms anywhere in the Caribbean. The adults-only retreat has 324 suites, along with five restaurants, and a high-tech spa with everything from hydro treatments to a full hydrotherapy circuit. Plus, guests have access to Sanctuary Town, a courtyard in front of the hotel with multiple restaurants like a Spanish tapas place, a German biergarten, a sushi place, and an Italian gelato spot.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort – Adults-Only All-inclusive is changing. One of the biggest evolutions? More and more all-inclusive resorts welcome solo travelers — not just making you feel at home, but actively tailoring programming for you.

That includes the Royalton CHIC, one of just a handful of CHIC resorts in the Caribbean, where Royalton designs the property and the programming for an energetic, activity-filled, entertaining customer base, whether you’re enjoying nightly shows or daily pool parties and everything in between. It doesn’t hurt that you’re right on arguably the best beach in the Dominican Republic.

dominican republic planet hollywood
Planet Hollywood’s Costa Rica resort.

Planet Hollywood Costa Rica, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort Planet Hollywood’s original Caribbean all-inclusive actually has special rates for single travelers. And when you get here, you’ll understand. This is a resort with the perfect balance between indulgent relaxation and sophisticated fun, whether you want to enjoy the private jacuzzi in your room or venture out and enjoy the vibe at the resort’s special “Adults Scene” resort-within-a-resort.

Treasure Beach by Elegant Hotels, All-Inclusive, Adults Only This tiny boutique hotel is a luxurious, intimate take on the all-inclusive concept, set on a magnificent stretch of Platinum Coast beach. While the relaxation quotient is high here, solo travelers can enjoy a bit of everything, from local art tours to a deep dive into the island’s vibrant “rum shop” culture.

marriott all-inclusive barbados open
A room at Waves in Barbados.

Waves Hotel and Spa by Elegant Hotels, All-Inclusive Maybe you’re looking for a wellness getaway. That’s the focus at this lovely West Coast beach hotel, where you can take a therapeutic journey through the hotel’s full range of treatment options: think locally-inspired treatments, facials, salt scrubs and even free access to the property’s sauna and steam rooms. There’s also an impressive slate of activities when you’re not in the treatment room: beach walks, cooking classes and even cricket on the beach.

Delta Hotels by Marriott Riviera Nayarit, An All-Inclusive Resort The only Delta Hotels by Marriott-branded all-inclusive in the Caribbean-Mexico region has become a haven for active travelers, with a complete menu of options for every form of self care. That includes a 10-treatment room spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center and access to a full serving of adventures in and around the Riviera Nayarit: a beach club, cultural immersion and even whale watching and tours to the Marietas Islands.

The Westin Reserva Conchal, An All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa Maybe you’re looking for a more sporting vacation. This recently-renovated Costa Rica all-inclusive is the answer. It’s all here: kayaking, snorkeling, paddling and tennis.

The party piece is access to the Robert Trent Jones-designed Reserva Conchal golf course, with spectacular beach views in a par-71, over 7,000-yard 18-hole layout. When you return to the property you can enjoy a transformed Heavenly Spa, a new-look Faisanella restaurant a special adults-only Westin Club lounge and a Westin Family section with suites specially redesigned for families.

marriott cancun all-inclusive pool
Marriott’s new all-inclusive resort in the Mexican Caribbean, which opened earlier this year as the first-ever Marriott-branded all-inclusive.

Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort The surging demand for all-inclusive isn’t the only way travel has changed in recent years. We’re also traveling more often together. And not just with our significant others. We’re traveling with our kids, and we’re traveling with parents, too. If you’re looking for multi-generational options, Marriott has that, too. Exhibit one? The fantastic new Marriott Cancun, the first-ever Marriott-branded all-inclusive resort in the world, with a completely transformed look that includes 450 rooms, a prime beachfront setting and, a new set of essentials if you’re traveling with kids — a sparkling new water park, an arcade and karaoke focused restaurant, and a very special kids club envisioned along with CAMP creators of family experiences.

Turtle Beach by Elegant Hotels, All-Inclusive It’s the perfect family destination on the south coast of Barbados: the 161-room Turtle Beach, one of the island’s legendary resorts, where families can enjoy one of the best beaches on the island, five different dining concepts (we’re rather partial to the Italian-inspired Asiago’s) and a prime location in the heart of Barbados’ always-fun-filled St Lawrence Gap.

marriott all-inclusive resorts
Crystal Cove in Barbados.

Crystal Cove by Elegant Hotels, All-Inclusive It just might be the most charming all-inclusive resort in Barbados. This Barbados essential has a delightful, almost storybook aesthetic, with an intimate, friendly vibe. Our favorite? The grotto-style cave pool and bar, a place where the whole family can hang out together when you’re not sunning on Platinum Coast sand. Another must for families? An activity-filled kids club. Even better? You also get complimentary water taxi service to Crystal Cove’s sister hotels on the Platinum Coast.

The House by Elegant Hotels, All-Inclusive, Adults Only Maybe you want a different kind of trip. Without the kids, without any distractions. Just you and your significant other. Well you’re in luck, because the All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio includes several top-flight adults-only retreats. And The House is right at the top. You know the moment you travel over the wooden drawbridge-style entrance and the torches by the gate you’ve entered a different level of romance and magic. And that extends throughout your stay: think champagne breakfasts, romantic beachfront dinners, crafted cocktails. The House is like your own private hideaway in Barbados.

A junior overwater suite at the Royalton CHIC.

Royalton CHIC Antigua, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort The newest addition to Marriott’s all-inclusive portfolio is the first CHIC property in the English-speaking Caribbean, with a plum perch on Antigua’s marvelous Dickenson Bay. CHIC has turned the adults-only escape into an art form. But the biggest story here is the overwater component. First, the only overwater restaurant in all of Antigua. Then, the resort’s collection of spectacular Chairman’s Overwater Bungalows, replete with swim-out infinity pools and glass-bottom floors. They’re worth the splurge for the ultimate romantic getaway.

Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive – Adults Only Jamaica’s new adults-only sanctuary has 10 dining options, 352 rooms and suites and a Diamond Club if you’re looking for an elevated accommodations experience. And yes, you can also enjoy Royalton’s famous C/X dining experience, a multi-course dinner that’s one of the region’s greatest culinary evenings. There is also the resort’s private island just offshore, where you can arrange even more romantic outings.
