This “Barefoot” Caribbean All-Inclusive Just Added Pool Cottages and a Beach Bar
You walk outside your room and take a dip in your own private plunge pool right on the beach. There’s nothing around you but waving palms and the periodic tweet of a tropical bird. It’s the barefoot-chic Caribbean experience, just you and your significant other and your own private toes-in-the-sand oasis.
This is what you get at Antigua’s adults-only Keyonna Beach, a property that’s long been an in-the-know all-inclusive retreat, and one that just got even better.
Keyonna Beach, set on a stunning stretch of white sand on the southern coast of the island, just added a collection of 11 new pool cottages, including eight “beachfront sanctuary” pool cottages all of which come with their own private pools, along with private Bali beds and sun loungers, all with sweeping view of the water and nearby Montserrat.
It’s part of a broader transformation at Keyonna Beach, which also transformed its existing two-story building into five sunset beachfront suites, all of which are set directly on the beach.
It’s the “essence of the vintage Caribbean,” owner Andrew Michelin tells Caribbean Journal.
That means a pure Caribbean experience: none of the rooms have TVs, the food is locally sourced, everything is prepared with the best local and natural ingredients. The emphasis is on simplicity — hearing the sound of the lapping waves, the shaking trees, the tropical breeze.
It’s the Caribbean as you dream it up, the one where you don’t need a watch, just sunglasses and a swimsuit.
Even better? The resort just added a new fully equipped beach bar, meaning you can get gourmet meals and fresh crafted cocktails without leaving the sand.
Of course, at Keyonna, you can get food and drinks delivered right to your bed or poolside.
As the resort describes, this is a barefoot experience, one where you can savor the natural beauty, feel the beach, and “embrace the true spirit of Caribbean hospitality.”
