Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport just broke its all-time record for passengers in a fiscal year.
The Bahamian capital’s airport reported 4.06 million passengers in fiscal year 2024, up from the previous record of 3.99 in fiscal year 2019.
The airport is also projected to surpass its previous calendar year passenger record this year.
“We’re absolutely delighted that for our fiscal year 2024, which encompasses the budget period July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 that we’ve actually had our best fiscal year ever,” said Vernice Walkine, President & CEO of the Nassau Airport Development Company.
“The demand for Nassau Paradise Island has continued to be very strong. Post pandemic we’ve seen tremendous growth. Our key airlines have increased their seat capacity into the destination because they are seeing the demand.”
Total seat capacity reached 6.379 million in the fiscal year 2024, up 18 percent compared to 2023.
In July, the airport reported 412,234 passengers traveling through, up 2.8 percent over July 2023.
