Marriott's new all-inclusive resort in the Mexican Caribbean.

Marriott has been rapidly expanding its all-inclusive footprint since its acquisition of Elegant Hotels back in 2019. But it wasn’t until recently that the company had a full-fledged, Marriott-branded all-inclusive resort.

Until now, Marriott’s several-dozen-strong portfolio of All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy resorts has been a mix of mostly Autograph Collection or Luxury Collection hotels.

But that just changed with the officially opening of the new Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, which is now welcoming guests.

The newest resort marks a “new era” for Marriott Hotels, the company said in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal.

Marriott Hotels’ new all-inclusive experience is designed to empower and inspire guests of all ages to connect in meaningful ways,” said Drew Iddings, Vice President of Marriott’s Premium Classic Brands. “It’s about more than just a vacation – it’s about creating unforgettable memories where relaxation, care, and curiosity converge.”

The new resort is an all-inclusive transformation of the former Marriott Cancun.

The new-look resort has 450 rooms, including 38 balcony suites and 124 “premium” ocean view rooms.

There are 13 different dining concepts, from a Polynesian grill to a classic beach shack and a mobile food cart serving fresh tamales. Yes, there is 24-hour room service, a minibar in every room and full, all-day dining and beverages included with your rate.

This is a family-friendly resort, and that means a strong offering of water sports amenities, anchored by a water park with slides, a lazy river and several different pools.

That’s along with a 5,000-square-foot “CAMP Club by Marriott,” a new take on the kids club.

Later this year, the resort will debut something called “The Workshop,” which helps to instruct guests on local culture and offer art lessons, crafts workshops and more.

So what does it cost?

The new Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort has a 20 percent discount right now on all bookings through August. 30.

Starting rates are about $619 per night (if you’re not a Marriott Bonvoy member); that’s for a sample itinerary booked next week in Cancun.
