It’s one of the signature places to stay in San Juan, Puerto Rico’s hottest neighborhood: the Condado area of the capital..

And now the popular resort has named a new leadership team, anchored by Mariano Formariz as its new general manager.

The new GM was most recently the area general manger for Marriott in Peru, overseeing four hotels in the country.

The San Juan Marriott has also tapped Javier Escolar as the new food and beverage director, and Romeo Penacino as executive chef.

The moves reinforce the hotels’s “commitment to excellence in hospitality and guest experiences,” according to a statement.
