Marriott’s New Isla Mujeres Adults-Only All-Inclusive Is Open For Bookings
It’s the best-kept secret in the Mexican Caribbean: the tiny island of Isla Mujeres just off the coast of Cancun.
For years, it’s been a laid-back, beachy, charming getaway, with more golf carts than cars, great quaint beaches, and terrific local food.
Now, it’s about to be the home of a major new destination resort: the newest refined entry in Marriott’s growing all-inclusive portfolio.
It’s called Almare, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort, and it’s now accepting bookings for stays beginning this October, Xavier Pineda, Marriott’s director of sales and marketing for all-inclusive, confirmed to Caribbean Journal.
That date puts the resort’s debut right in time for the festive season, as the first Luxury Collection all-inclusive in Mexico.
So, what do you need to know?
Almare will have 109 rooms, all of which are suites, with large balconies and spectacular views, being one of the few properties in the Mexican Caribbean where you can see the sunset from the beach.
That’s along with seven different eateries and bars, featuring both local Mexican fare and international cuisine — “epicurean journeys thoughtfully tailored for every type of traveler.”
There’s also a wellness “sanctuary”, the Alma Spa, where guests can enjoy both ancient Mayan and Caribbean healing traditions, joined by a high-tech fitness center, a salt room, a salon, and a hydrotherapy pool, among other amenities.
It’s a resort that “celebrates the beauty and culture of this incredible destination,” said Enrique Solari, General Manager for Almare Resort.
So, what will the resort cost?
A sample itinerary booked for the middle of October showed rates starting at $823 per night in double occupancy.
In the last few years, Marriott has become a major all-inclusive player in the wider Caribbean, with now dozens of all-inclusives across both the Caribbean and Mexico – a number that will keep growing with the debut of highly-anticipated new resorts like the W Punta Cana and the recently announced Paraiso de la Bonita by The Luxury Collection in Riviera Maya, among others.
