Union Island in the Grenadines was one of the Caribbean islands worst impacted by Hurricane Beryl this week.
Most of the island’s inhabitants are now homeless, a critical situation as many Union Islanders lack access to insurance and need immediate help to secure their homes and rebuild.
The nearby Palm Island resort, just across the water from Union Island, where many Union Islanders work, has launched an urgent fundraiser to raise money for the people of Union Island.
“We have established this fundraiser on behalf of Palm Island Resort & Spa, which is in a desperate race to raise money for the people of nearby Union Island,” said Laurence Basham, COO of Palm Island’s parent company, Elite Island Resorts.
Donations will help rebuild Union Island’s medical clinic, its airport and other vital centers across the community.
Union needs building materials, medical supplies, food, fresh water, clothing and all kinds of essential items for survival.
All 100 percent of donations will go directly to assist the people of Union Island.
