Cancun Has a New Adults-Only Vacation Spot: Hotel Mousai

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 30, 2024

Gourmet restaurants. A rooftop infinity pool. Tequila tastings. A “garden” style shopping and art center.

Cancun’s newest hotel isn’t quite like any other resort in the Mexican Caribbean hotspot, and that’s a very welcome development in an area that has become known for its mostly uniform resorts.

This is the new Hotel Mousai Cancun, the newest addition to the growing Tafer Hotels portfolio, a sleek, colorful hotel that’s looking to combine an authentic Mexican personality with a modern Caribbean feel.

It’s a boutique-style resort, with just 88 rooms and a very intimate feel compared to the mostly mega-resort-style hotels that dot the Hotel Zone.

So what are the amenities?

You get a bit of everything: two pools, including a rooftop infinity pool that has become a Tafer signature; a spa called “Imagine”; eateries like an Italian-inspired restaurant called NOI, a waterside “snack” spot and a rooftop lounge.

Another cool Mousai concept is the “Tierra Luna Gardens,” an open-air town-square style area with everything from art to shopping.

The rooftop pool has become a Tafer signature amenity.

While it’s not an exclusively all-inclusive resort, the property does have a signature all-inclusive option that also gives you a full all-inclusive plan and access to the resort’s sister properties, Garza Blanca and Villa del Palmar in Cancun.

The price is only about a $300 difference per night, meaning it’s well worth it considering the vast number of inclusions you’re getting.

Prices right now are starting at around $522 per person, a spokesperson for the resort told Caribbean Journal.

It’s another strong addition for Tafer, whose Garza Blanca has already become one of the top-rated places to stay in Cancun after debuting back in 2021.
