Bonaire Is Getting New Flights From an Increasingly Important Travel Market
The proximity doesn’t hurt. And in recent years, South America has been increasingly important source market for the destinations of the Dutch Caribbean.
Now, another new nonstop flight will connect the region with South America, thanks to new service on Z Air to Bonaire.
The carrier is adding a new nonstop flight between Barranquilla, Colombia and Bonaire.
The new service will over one roundtrip per week, with flights from Bonaire to Barranquilla on Mondays and return flights on Fridays from Barranquilla.

“This new direct flight route is a significant milestone for Bonaire. It opens up new opportunities for tourism and business, fostering a closer relationship with Barranquilla and enhancing our island’s accessibility,” Tourism Corporation Bonaire CEO Miles Mercera told Caribbean Journal. “We are excited to support Z Air in this venture and look forward to welcoming more visitors to our beautiful island.”
The service also creates a unique option for multi-destination travel, meaning you can combine a vacation to Bonaire with a getaway to the vibrant city on Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
The flights are already available for booking.
It’s another boost for Bonaire, which has been seeing record-breaking tourism arrivals and strong growth in new airlift, including major new flights from New York on JetBlue planned for this fall.
