From Tortola to St Kitts, a Caribbean Island-Hopping Boost for European Travelers

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 18, 2024

If you’re based in Europe and looking to island-hop around the Caribbean, things just got a whole lot easier for you.

Leading regional carrier Winair and France-based Air Caraibes have renewed their interline agreement, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The agreement means passengers can book a single ticket for their whole journey, covering both airlines. You can check your baggage through all the way to you final destination, both within the Caribbean and Europe.

Air Caraibes flies between Paris Orly and both Fort-de-France, Martinique and St Maarten.

“Collaborating with Winair will allow us to expand our offers for both Caribbean and European travelers, answering the increasing demand of this market over the past few
years,” said Christine Ourmieres-Widener, president of Air Caraibes. “We believe this agreement will create new business opportunities for local territories, reinforce our regional roots and enhance our customers’ journey. We are confident this will positively impact the experience of our passengers.”

In a statement provided to Caribbean Journal, St Maarten Tourism Minister Grisha Heyliger-Marten said she was “delighted by the renewal of the interline agreement between Winair and Air Caraïbes. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to enhancing connectivity
and providing seamless travel experiences for our visitors.”

Winner’s growing network (one that includes a new, just–acquired Twin Otter plane) now includes destinations like St Barth, Antigua, Dominica, Saba, Statia, Tortola and St Kitts, among others.
