A New Luxury Resort Is Coming to the Best Beach in Saint Lucia

By: Alexander Britell - May 24, 2024

Saint Lucia is famous for its Pitons, its rainforests, its chocolate and its romance. But when it comes to the island’s best beaches, one stretch of sand reigns supreme: Reduit.

Plainly, the gold-and-white sands on Saint Lucia’s northwestern coast form the best beach on the whole island, a long, wide coastline that’s also home to the beloved Bay Gardens Beach Resort (and its renowned floating water park just offshore).

Next year, Reduit will be home to a brand-new luxury resort, the newest addition to the Bay Gardens portfolio.

The three-bedroom villas have private plunge pools.

It’s called the Sapphire Sands Villas, and it’s a luxury villa resort right on the sands of Reduit.

So what do you need to know?

The resort will be what the Bay Gardens team calls a “bespoke collection of beachfront luxury villas,” each of which will come with state-of-the-art amenities and, perhaps most notably, butler service.

The family-friendly resort will also have a unique flexibility: in all, Sapphire Sands has 27 “keys,” but it can be configured in any number of ways.

Sapphire Sands is all about space and comfort in a residential-style concept.

That means you can rent a single one-bedroom unit – or make it a suite — or stay in your own three-bedroom villa with a plunge pool.

The family-friendly quality is also unique on an island where smaller, adults-only hotels tend be the norm. At Sapphire Sands, you get access to kids’ clubs, security and the kind of space families crave.

Even better? If you stay at Sapphire Sands you get access to all of the properties in the Bay Gardens portfolio, and access to the Bay Gardens Beach Club, Koral Kidz Club and Splash Island Waterpark, among other amenities.

And yes, you can book on Bay Gardens’ all-inclusive plan, too, which includes its famous dine-around program, giving guests the chance to eat at local restaurants on their all-inclusive package.

It’s a very exciting addition to Saint Lucia and the Rodney Bay Area.

So when will it open? Right now the target is the summer of 2025.
