You Will Soon Be Able to Fly From Puerto Rico to Barbados
Is a new Caribbean intra-regional carrier quietly developing in San Juan?
Ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines continues to add new routes within the Caribbean out of its new base in San Juan.
That already includes St Croix, St Maarten and Cancun, and it will soon include another Caribbean destination: Barbados.
Beginning in July, Frontier will start operating three weekly flights between San Juan and Barbados, with intro fares as low as $59.
It’s a big boost for Barbados, giving travelers across the United States the opportunity to connect in San Juan and fly to Barbados — thanks to Frontier’s large network of flights to Puerto Rico.
“We are happy to support Frontier’s continued and rapid growth on the Island,” said Carlos Mercado Santiago, executive director, Puerto Rico Tourism Company. “We look forward to strengthening Puerto Rico as the leading aviation hub in the Caribbean.”
The launch comes after Frontier announced another new route between San Juan and the neighboring Dominican Republic.
