The British Virgin Islands Has a New Watersports Destination

Marina Cay is a new watersports hotspot.

You may not know that Marina Cay, the beloved eight-acre island off the coast of Beef Island in the BVI has relaunched

Now run by Mainsail, it’s home to the Marina Cay Bar and Grill, a popular yachting and day trip destination.

But Marina Cay now has another party piece: a full-fledged watersports operation, thanks to a partnership with Up ’n Under Watersports.

That means you can head to Marina Cay for the day and enjoy everything from kayaks, paddleboards and snorkeling to eFoils, the “electric surfboards” that can let riders cruise at more than 20mph.

That’s along with the aquaDART, a dive scooter that’s the most powerful of its kind in the world.

“The addition of watersports gives visitors lots of ways to enjoy our mini destination longer than just for a delicious meal or refreshing drink,” said General Manager Sandra Grisham-Clothier. “Marina Cay’s ideal location and picturesque setting are perfect for guests who want to extend their time on the island with a day of fun water play.”

Right, watersports at Marina Cay are available from Sunday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, while the bar and grill is open from 11 AM to 9 PM every day, with everything from happy hours to live music and beach parties.
