Rugged, secluded and draped in soaring cliffs, the east side of Barbados has historically been the spot on the island for a private escape. In fact, 99% of the island’s East Coast falls within preserved national park land.
But there are dots of development both historical and just announced – namely The Crane, a 250-plus room resort tucked on the island’s southeastern shore that dates back to 1887. It is billed as the oldest continuously operating hotel in the Caribbean.
