Delta Air Lines is adding more than 35,000 seats for what the company is calling its largest-ever winter schedule in Latin America and the Caribbean, Caribbean Journal has learned.
That will include extra flights to destinations across the region, from Montego Bay, Jamaica to St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.
From Atlanta, Delta is adding extra Saturday flights to St Thomas, USVI, St Maarten and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
From New York-John F Kennedy International Airport, the carrier will be operating three Saturday flights to Cancun.
Out of both Minneapolis Detroit, Delta will be flying two Saturday frequencies to Punta Cana, Montego Bay and San Juan, Puerto Rico. (Delta also said it would be adding an extra Seattle-Cancun flight that would depart Fridays and return from Mexico on Saturdays).
That comes along with two Saturday flights between Boston and San Juan this winter.
All of the extra Saturday flights will kick off on Jan. 13, 2024.
Overall, Delta says it will be adding 30 percent more seats to the wider Caribbean Basin this winter, including to destinations like Costa Rica and Guatemala.
Delta just added a pair of new routes to the Caribbean: relaunched nonstop service to Curacao and Cartagena, Colombia.
