Delta Air Lines is adding another new route to the Caribbean this winter, with a nonstop flight between Atlanta and Cartagena.
In another boost for the booming destination on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, Delta will be launching a new service on Dec. 22.
Atlanta-Cartagena flights will operate three times each week, operated on Boeing 737 aircraft with first class, Delta Comfort+ and main cabin service, according to the carrier.
The move is the result of Delta’s joint venture with the LATM Group.
More carriers have been adding flights between the United States and Cartagena, including Colombian carrier Avianca, which just restarted its Miami-Cartagena flights in June.
Delta is also adding new service between Atlanta and Bogota, Colombia beginning Oct. 29.
Cartagena has been one of the fastest-growing tourism destinations in the wider Caribbean Basin in recent years.
