Southwest Airlines has resumed what the low-cost carrier calls “normal operations,” the company announced in a statement.
The carrier had endured a tumultuous week that saw thousands of flights canceled.
“We value the continued patience and support of our valued customers, and we apologize for the inconveniences of the past week,” Southwest said in a statement.
“The company says it is now offering refunds and covering expenses for impacted customers.
“There’s just no way almost to apologize enough,” Southwest CEO Bob Jordan said this week. “We love our customers, we love our people, and we really impacted their plans.”
Southwest has a growing network in the Caribbean, operating mostly out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
