Princess Relaunches Caribbean Cruises from Galveston
Princess Cruises has returned to the Port of Galveston in Texas.
The cruise line, part of the Carnival portfolio, has resumed sailing Caribbean cruises from Texas for the first time since 2016.
The brand’s Ruby Princess ship is sailing a total of 16 sailings from Galveston this winter season, with a mix of five to 11 day itineraries and a pair of 16-day Panama Canal crossings between Galveston and San Francisco.
Ruby Princses will be carrying an estimated 50,000 passengers during the 2022-2023 cruise season.
“Galveston is an important port for Princess Cruises, and provides an exciting and easy-to-reach option for millions of people living in the southwestern U.S. to enjoy the ultimate in classic cruise vacations marked by our Princess MedallionClass service,” said Padgett. “We appreciate the support of the Port of Galveston and the greater Galveston community for helping make this day possible.”
Ruby Princess has just under 900 balcony cabins, with a max capacity of 3,080 passengers on a 19-deck ship.
The 113,561-ton ship has 1,100 crew members.
