Daily Caribbean Airlines Flights Return to Grenada
Caribbean Airlines has resumed operating daily flights to Grenada, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The service between Trinidad’s Piarco International Airport and Grenada began operating daily on Nov. 26.
“The return of a daily flight service between Grenada and Trinidad is a win for our islands but also a win for the region, which has been struggling significantly with intra-regional travel,” said Grenada Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell. “Regional connectivity is not only important for the tourism industry, but it is also critical to ensure sustained economic growth and development especially in the area of trade and foreign investment.”
The Monday and Friday service departs Trinidad at 8:15 in the evening, offering connectivity to the airline’s redeye New York service. It will also help connect to Toronto-Trinidad service.
Of course, it’s most importantly a boost for the intra-regional travel market.
“We are delighted with the commitment of CAL to increase flight frequency between Grenada and Trinidad, our top performing market in the Caribbean,” Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority. “We are delighted with the commitment of CAL to increase flight frequency between Grenada and Trinidad, our top performing market in the Caribbean.”
In a statement, Grenada Tourism Authority Chairman Randall Dolland said the additional flights “give visitors the option to connect to Grenada for both business and leisure and brings a welcome boost to regional connectivity.”
