A new Wyndham hotel has opened its doors in Puerto Rico, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The new TRYP by Wyndham Mayaguez held its grand opening this week in the city of Mayaguez on the increasingly popular west coast of Puerto Rico.
It’s the second TRYP by Wyndham in Puerto Rico, joining the existing TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde in San Juan.
The hotel is set in the historic center of Mayaguez, with a total of 51 rooms and suites.
Amenities at the $6.8 million property include a pool, a gym, a market, a business center and “ample parking,” according to the property.
The hotel has already begun a second phase of expansion, one that will add eight more suite-style rooms to the property and a restaurant.
“The tourism project has rehabilitated several neighboring properties, creating a multiplier effect in the area,” said Erick Ruiz, owner of the hotel.
