The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar resort in The Bahamas has become the first resort in Nassau to offer on-site PCR and antigen testing for guests.
The “return home” tests, which are administered by professionals from Nassau’s Doctor’s Hospital, are optional for resort guests who wish to take tests before departing the country at the end of their stay.
The resort reopened for guests in the middle of last month.
“Many travelers are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result when arriving home, and our goal is to make that process as seamless as possible with the option to take a test on property rather than going off-site or taking one at the airport after landing,” says Ulrich Samietz, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. “After a stressful year, we want guests to spend time relaxing and enjoying all of Baha Mar’s spectacular pools, beaches, restaurants and activities while we take care of the testing logistics for them.”
The property has also launched a new program called “Safe Travels” that includes two complimentary PCR tests for the day of departure.
All guests at the hotel are required to take a test upon arrival to the resort, however.
That’s in addition to the five-day PCR test result required by The Bahamas.
