Windstar Planning to Resume Caribbean Cruises in November

Boutique cruise line Windstar Cruises is planning a return to the Caribbean in November, according to the company.

While it will actually resume cruising in September with a sailing in Tahiti, its first Caribbean cruise is planned on Wind Surf for Nov. 29, 2020.

“We have taken extraordinary measures to operate our yachts safely,” said Xanterra and Windstar Cruises CEO Andrew Todd. “While we look forward to welcoming guests aboard again, we believe this further suspension of operations is the responsible action to take. We have laid plans for a resumption of small ship cruising beginning in September.”

That was a previously scheduled itinerary.

Windstar’s Star Breeze cruise ship will move to the Caribbean in December to pick up sailings from Star Legend and Star Pride.

The Star Breeze will then offer a few new Caribbean itineraries until June.

Windstar said it would be reviewing and updating its health and safety practices during its pause in operations.

The company operates a fleet of six small “yachts” ranging from 148 to 342 guests.
