Delta Launches New Daily Flights to Kingston, Jamaica

Kingston is heating up.

Another major air carrier has launched new service to Jamaica’s capital, this time with Delta Air Lines launching daily flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Delta is operating the new service on Boeing 737-800 aircraft, according to a statement from the company.

The new route comes as several carriers have set their eyes on the capital in the last several years.

It’s a boost for Jamaica’s efforts to position the capital as a tourism destination, a push that is being helped by a major project to build an AC Hotel in the capital, the result of a partnership between Sandals and Marriott.

Another carrier, Spirit, is planning to launch flights from Orlando to Kingston in March.
