Delta Air Lines is expanding its service to the island of St Croix for the upcoming holiday season.
US Virgin Islands Commissioner of Tourism Beverly Nicholson-Doty confirmed that Delta would be operating daily flights from Atlanta to St Croix between Dec. 20 and Jan. 5, 2019, with the exception of Christmas and New YEar’s Day.
“The demand for St. Croix continues to build,” Nicholson-Doty said.
After the peak holiday season Delta will serve St Croix with three nonstop flights per week on Mondays, from the week of Jan. 7 through the end of March.
Tourism officials in the US Virgin Islands are also looking to secure more flights between San Juan and St Croix in early January, as JetBlue is exiting the route.
“Our talks with our airline partners continue to be strong and we expect to surpass the amount of seats provided by JetBlue on that important route,” she said.
