There’s a new seafood hotspot in the heart of Playa del Carmen.
The Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen has unveiled its newest eatery, the Sushi ’n’ Raw Seafood Bar and Restaurant.
The brainchild of Chef Antonio Herrera, the new eatery is based on “contemporary, progressive Japanese culinary concepts,” according to a statement from the property.
That includes locally-sourced fish and produce, along with signatures like sashimi, nigiri, poke and ramen, among other culinary options.
The 42-seat restaurant has panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, along with an eight-person sushi bar that includes live cooking and sushi demonstrations.
That’s along with a robust cocktail menu including both imported sake and sochu.
