Melia Splitting Punta Cana Resort into Two Properties
By the Caribbean Journal staff
Melia is splitting one of its signature Caribbean resorts into two distinct all-inclusive properties, the company announced this week.
Melia will be transforming the Melia Caribe Tropical into Punta Cana into two resorts: the adults-only Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort, and the family-friendly Melia Caribe Beach Resort.
The transformation of the Bavaro Beach resort is set for completion in November, according to the company.
“With this transformation, Meliá Hotels International continues its investment in the Dominican Republic region, by adding to its world-wide luxury portfolio and continuing to offer guests a wide range of personalized experiences,” Melia Hotels said in a statement.
The move comes after Melia announced the planned launch of a new resort in Punta Cana later this year.
