Bahia Principe is planning a major transformation project for one of its resorts in Punta Cana.
The company has closed the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue for a large-scale renovation project; it will reopen in November as the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar.
The 528-suite oceanfront adults-only hotel is one of seven Bahia Principe properties on Playa Bavaro in Punta Cana.
The property’s “extensive renovation” will include the addition of swim-up suites, the enhancement of all hotel interiors and the addition of concepts like a coffee shop-bakery and three refurbished restaurants.
“Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar’s impressive redesign comes at an exciting time for our brand as we recently announced a portfolio rebranding and reclassified our properties into four categories and distinct experiences,” said Helen Montijano, vice president of sales and marketing, U.S. and Canada. “The renovated hotel will fall under our Luxury brand and our Escape experience signifying that it will provide high-end amenities, five-star service, and the entertainment and gastronomy offering will cater specifically to adults.”
Guests at the rebranded property will also be able to enjoy access to other Bahia Principe resorts in Punta Cana, with the exception of Luxury Bahia Principe Fantasia.
The move comes after Bahia Principe recently debuted another rebranded property in the Dominican Republic, the family-friendly Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado.
