BVI Airways Gets FAA Approval

In a major step toward launching nonstop flights between the United States and Tortola, air carrier BVI Airways has received authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration to operate flights between the BVI and cities in the U.S.

BVI Airways had earlier this month received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

“This brings us one major step closer to begin bringing this much needed ‘game-changing’ service to the British Virgin Islands,” said Jerry Willoughby, CEO of BVI Airways.

The carrier is hoping to launch scheduled nonstop flights from both New York and Miami to Tortola’s Beef Island airport.
