Royal Caribbean Breaks Ground on New Terminal in Miami

Royal Caribbean has officially broken ground on its major new terminal project in Miami: PortMiami Terminal A.

The new port is aiming for completion prior to the arrival of the world’s largest cruise ship, Symphony of the Seas, which will be delivered in April 2018.

The ship will include 28 more staterooms than its sister ship, Harmony of the Seas, and encompass a total of 230,000 gross registered tons.

The new terminal, the “Crown of Miami,” will feature 170,000 square feet and be what Royal Caribbean is calling the “most innovative cruise facility in the U.S.”

The company said it was expecting Terminal A to bring in $500 million in revenue and add 4,000 new jobs to Miami-Dade County.
