Delta has announced a major expansion of its Caribbean flight network out of Boston.
The carrier is launching new routes to a host of destinations out of the northeastern hub.
Delta will begin offering one Saturday nonstop flight between Boston and Montego Bay; one Saturday nonstop flight to Punta Cana and one Saturday nonstop flight to St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.
The Montego Bay and Punta Cana flights will begin operating Dec. 17; the new St Thomas service will launch Feb 18.
The former two flights will be operated on Airbus 319 aircraft, while the St Thomas flights will be on a Boeing 757.
The new routes come as competitor JetBlue has launched expanded Caribbean offerings out of Boston, including flights to Barbados and Aruba. (The carrier has also added Mint premium cabin service to those flights).
Delta’s latest expansion comes a few months after it announced expanded flights earlier this year, most recently to the Dominican Republic.
