Why You Need to Visit This Rum Festival

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 12, 2016

It’s become one of the most important stops on the global rum circuit: the Miami Rum Renaissance Festival.

The festival is hosting its eighth edition this weekend from April 15 to 17 at the Doubletree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center.

The event, led by renowned rum expert Rob Burr, includes a three-day exhibition of some of the world’s best rum brands, along with events like the Island Lifestyle Showcase, celebrity seminars, workshops and cocktail competitions ,the annual RumXP competition and, new for this year, a VIP Tasting Bar.

The latter will include some highly-sought-after rums, including Facundo Paraiso, Brugal Siglo de Oro, Abuelo Centuria, Mount Gay 1703 and more.

“We want to share with rum fest participants some of the most interesting and exquisite rums that we’ve collected from our travels around the world,” Burr said. “This is a splendid opportunity for rum enthusiasts to better understand and appreciate these limited edition, vintage and rare collectibles.”
